Heat the oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add the chopped onion and cook until it becomes translucent, about 3-4 minutes.

Add the garlic and ginger to the pan and cook for another minute.

Add the tomato paste and all the spices (coriander, cumin, turmeric, chili powder, garam masala, and salt) to the pan. Stir well and cook for a minute or two.
