About Recipe

This year was the first year that I have attempted to bake my own Christmas cakes. They always just seemed so daunting to me, especially since I know how easily they can become completely dry. This recipe doesn't risk this at all. These cakes are deliciously moist and so easy to make, too.

Ingredients

butter

Chelsea White Sugar

mixed dried fruit

sherry or brandy

mixed spice

baking soda

Golden Syrup or Treacle

eggs

plain flour

baking powder

orange juice

Finely grated zest of 1 large orange
