I have a confession to make. The word casserole makes me break out in a cold sweat. I know that hordes of people love these hot dishes, but I just cannot bring myself to embrace them. With Thanksgiving just around the corner, blogs feature recipes for the ubiquitous side dish featuring green beans, grocery sample kitchens create recipes using products available in their aisles and every producer of cream of mushroom soup has taken out an ad in one publication or another demonstrating the use of their product in this hot dish. Seriously, I click-away, pick up my step and quickly flip past the recipes, samples and ads.
