About Recipe

These can be prepared with any nicely fermented dosa,idly or uthappam batter or left over dosa batter. These are shallow fried fritters.quick and easy snack.

Ingredients

one bowl dosa/idly batter.

one big onion chopped.

4 green chillies chopped.

10 curry leaves chopped.

1tsp chopped coriander leaves.

1tsp cumin seeds.

1tsp soaked chanadal.

oil.

salt.

Cooking Procedure

n 1. Add chopped onions and remaing ingredients except oil to the dosa batter and mix well.nn 2. Heat ponganala skillet on medium heat and add less than 1/4th tsp oil in each impression.nn 3. Add about 1tsp of batter in each of it and cover with a lid and cook for 5 mins.nn 4. Now try to turn them slowly with a spoon or fork.if they are cooked properly,they will come out easily without sticking to the mould,else wait for one more min.nn 5. cook the other side with out covering with lid for 5 more mins on medium heat.nn 6. Take them out and serve hot with coconut or peanut chutney or karapodi.nn For dosa batter:nn soak 1 cup urad dal and 2 cups rice for atleast 6 hours and soak 2tsp rice flakes ten min before grinding..and grind them all together to smooth paste adding water.nn leave this batter in a warm place, overnight for fermentation.nn  n
