About Recipe

This was the most challenging cake I’ve been asked to create, yet surprisingly once I finally figured out how best to make this, the final Uncle Sam Hat Surprise Cake came together quite easily. I just made a lot of mistakes along the way. I spent several days and used 12 cake mixes, before I got it right. I gave away a lot of cake to friends and family. I didn’t hear any complaints. Everyone enjoyed the rejects. It was stressful, to say the least, but when I finally got my act together, and made the completed cake that you see here, it was really quite fun. That’s the beauty of having someone like me figure out just how something needs to be made so you don’t have to.
