2 cups loosely packed fresh basil leaves

2 tablespoons toasted pinenuts or chopped walnuts

2 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese

2 medium garlic cloves

1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil

salt and pepper to taste

n 1. In a blender or small food processor add all the ingredients and pulse  a few times to make a little grainy or smooth pesto.nn 2. Basil pesto can be used in pizzas, pasta, over baked potatoes or toasted bread/ baguette slices.n
