Ingredients

1lb chicken.

1 cup finely chopped onions.

2 green chillies.

salt to taste.

2 to 3 tsp chilli powder.

2 tbsp oil.

2 tsp sambar powder.

1/2 cup coriander seeds.

1/4 cup khus khus.(poppy seeds.)

one inch cinnamon piece.

2 or 3 cloves.

1 inch ginger piece.

6 or 7 garlic pods.

1tbsp chopped coriander leaves.

Cooking Procedure

n 1. Cut chicken into medium pieces,wash thoroughly.nn 2. Take a thick bottomed vessel. Add oil.nn 3. Add onions,green chillies and saute them till onions become tender.nn 4. Add washed and drained chicken, add salt, sambar powder,chilli powder.nn 5. Cover and cook on medium flame. do not add water at this point.chicken oozes out water.nn 6. Allow it to cook on its own juices so that its raw flavour goes.nn 7. Meanwhile grind ginger ,garlic,coriander,khus khus,cinnamon, cloves and 1 or 2 tsp of onions to fine paste adding little water.nn 8. Add this paste to chicken and add one cup water and cook on medium flame..nn 9. when the gravy attains required consistancy,switch off  the flame and sprinkle fresh coriander leaves.nn Note: If u dont have sambar powder add coriander, cumin,fenugreek ,turmeric powders separately.n
