Chicken Drumsticks Curry

Ingredients

500gms chicken

2 medium sized onions sliced thinly

2 slit green chillies

1 tablespoon fresh mint leaves (pudina)

2 tablespoon fresh coriander leaves

3 drumsticks cut them into 3 inch pieces

4 teaspoons dry coconut powder

1 .5 teaspoons gingergarlic paste

½ tsp garam masala powder

1.5 teaspoon coriander powder

4 tablespoon olive oil

¼ teaspoon turmeric

1.5 teaspoons redchilli powder

1 teaspoon salt

8 small (indian size) garlic cloves

½ teaspoon roasted cumin powder

Cooking Procedure

Clean the chicken, marinate with turmeric, ginger garlic paste, redchilli powder, salt  and 2 tps oil for 30 – 60 mins

Heat a pan on medium heat, add oil, green chillies, onions and fry till onions become light brown.

Now add the marinated chicken. It oozes out  water, fry on medium low heat till all the water evaporates.

Now add fresh water and see that all the chicken pieces are immersed, allow the chicken to cook. Adjust water according to the thickness of gravy required.

When the chicken is ¾ th done add the drumstick pieces and cook till they are done.

Meanwhile grind together coconut powder, coriander powder, garam masala, cumin powder, and garlic cloves.

Now add the above mixture to the curry, add chopped mint and coriander and cook for 5 more mins.

Serve hot rice or chapathi.
