Homemade guacamole is something I only recently started buying. I cannot believe how long it took me to take the plunge and make my own, but i am certainly glad I did! The first learning curve I faced was that you have to pick the perfect avocados. A ripe avocado is black but still has a little give. It should not be squishy, or green. If you do buy a green one, I suggest letting it ripen up a bit on your counter.
