About Recipe

This simple yet quick recipe is made of smoked salted herring, a fish quite popular in Haiti, and cream cheese. Served with papita, Haitian plantain chips, it is a delight.

Ingredients

Smoked Herring Filet

8 oz Cream Cheese

1/4 cup (or more) whipping cream

1/2 chopped bell pepper

1/2 chopped onion

1 piment bouc (Habanero Pepper)

Cooking Procedure

n n In a food processor, mix the herring with some whipping cream (you can evaluate the amount based on how creamy you want the mousse to be), bell pepper, onion and piment bouc until they are all well combined and liquified.n n Add the previous mix to the softened cream cheese. n n Adjust the seasoning to taste Serve with papita, crackers or fresh bread.nnn n  n
