About Recipe

A hint of orange flavors this Italian cake which is adorned with a simple orange frosting.

Ingredients

½ cups butter

2 eggs

½ cup superfine sugar

1 cup confectioners’ sugar

1 cup all purpose flour

¼ tsp baking powder

1/3 cup orange juice

¼ tsp salt

Orange Frosting

¼ cup orange juice

1 cup confectioners’ sugar

Cooking Procedure

n Preheat oven to 350º.nn Line an 8” cake pan with parchment paper and grease pan and paper with butter.nn Melt the butter in the microwave. Whisk the eggs, superfine sugar, 1 cup confectioners’ sugar in a large bowl until light and fluffy.nn Stir in the melted butter.nn Sift the flour and baking powder into the mixture, mix well and stir in 1/3 cup of the orange juice.nn Pour the mixture into the cake pan and bake for 30 to 35 minutes.nn Combine ¼ cup of orange juice and remaining cup of confectioners’ sugar.nn Remove from the oven and let cool in the pan. After cake is cool, gently remove it from the pan and coat with frosting. Let sit until frosting has settled.nn  n
