Happy Saturday guys. Ready for a cocktail? A DANISH inspired cocktail? A “It’s finally freakin sunny OMG IT’S FINALLY FREAKIN SUNNY” Danish inspired cocktail? I thought so. This Danish aquavit mule right here……. this one’s for you. Any of you tried akvavit before? The Scandinavian aquavit that’s kind of herby? I hadn’t, but now I have! It’s usually infused with dill or caraway, so it’s bright and refreshing, but savory at the same time. It was definitely the most surprising aspect of Global Feasts: Denmark. We tried a local aquavit that was distilled in Seattle, as I couldn’t find any that was actually distilled in Denmark. So, the tradition goes that you cheers all of your comrades, make eye contact, and say “skal” (which sounds like skull), then take a shot. A glass of beer is served with the shot!
