Ingredients

1 cut whole chicken ( around 3lb)

1 .5 cups chopped methi leaves (fenugreek leaves)

2 cups thinly sliced onions

3 green chillies finely chopped

1 large tomato

1.5 tablespoons ginger garlic paste

2 teaspoons redchilli powder or to taste

1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder

2 teaspoons coriander powder

1 teaspoon cumin powder

whole Garam Masala (1 inch piece cinnamon, 1 black cardamom, 2 green cardamom, 1/2 mace, 3 cloves, 2 bayleaves)

1/2 teaspoon garam masala

1/2 cup yogurt

7 - 8 cashews (soaked in water for 30 mins)

3 - 4 tablespoons olive oil

salt to taste

Cooking Procedure

n 1. Clean and wash the chicken.nn  nn 2. Marinate it with turmeric, salt, gingergarlic paste and redchilli powder for 30 mins.nn  nn 3. Heat oil in a wide pan on medium heat, add the onions and fry till they start to change the color.nn  nn 4. Add the finley chopped green chillies and chopped methi leaves. Fry till most of the water evoparates from methi leaves.nn  nn 5. Add the chicken, coriander and cumin powders and cook till all the water evoparates from chicken. nn  nn 6. Reduce the heat, add the finely chopped tomatoes and cook for 5  - 7 mins.nn  nn 7. Meanwhile grind the cashews with little water into a smooth paste. Now add yogurt to the cashew paste and grind for 10 secs.nn  nn 8. Add this paste, garam masala and water to chicken and mix well. Adjust water as per the desired consistency of gravy.nn  nn 9. Cover and cook till all the chicken is well cooked mixing in between.nn  nn 10. Serve hot with roti or rice.nn  nn  n
