Ingredients

1 Cup Groundnuts

1/4 Cup Walnuts

4 - 5 green chillies or as per taste

1 Tsp Cumin Seeds

1/4 cup Coriander (Cilantro) leaves

Salt to taste

3 - 4 inches Tamarind or 1/2 Tsp Tamarind Paste

2 garlic cloves

1 1/2 Tbsp oil

1 Tsp Mustard seeds

1/2 Tsp Cumin seeds

1 Tsp Urad dal ( Black gram)

1 Tsp Chana dal(Bengal Gram)

1 Red Chiili, Pinch of Hing

5 - 6 Curry Leaves

Cooking Procedure

n 1. Heat a pan (kadai) on medium heat, when hot, add groundnuts and walnuts, 1 tsp oil, and green chillies.nn 2. Lower the heat to  low and fry them till brown spots starts to appear on groundnuts. Just before turning off the stove, add tamarind, 1 tsp cumin seeds and fry.nn 3. Allow them to cool. Then add , coriander leaves, garlic cloves, salt. Grind them to a little coarse paste adding water. Adjust water as per the consistency you like. If you like the texture of the chutney to be smooth, you can grind it to smooth consistancy.nn 4. When the chutney is ready, Heat remaining oil in a small pan, when hot, add chanadal,  urad dal, cumin seeds, mustard seeds, red chilli, hing and curry leaves. Fry them till the dals turn light brown color, do not burn them.nn 5. Add this tempering to the chutney and serve with idli/ dosa/ pesarattu/ vada.nn  nn  nn  nn  n
