A festive delight.........

Ingredients

2 Cups Gram Flour (besan)

1.5 Cups Sugar

1 Cup Milk Powder

3/4 Cup + 3 tablespoon Clarified Butter (Ghee)

1 Cup Water

2 Tablespoons Milk

1 Teaspoon Cardamom Powder (Elaichi Powder)

Sliced Almonds and Pistachios for garnishing

Cooking Procedure

In a wide bowl add gram flour, two tablespoons melted clarified butter and two tablespoons milk. Rub this mixture with your both palms till it attains  a grainy texture. Keep it aside for 10 - 15 mins.

Seive this mixture to get a coarse powder. Use your fingers to apply pressure for seiving. Discard big granules of gram flour mixture after seiving.

Melt 3/4 cup of Clarified butter in a wide non stick pan on medium low heat. Add the seived gram flour mixture and saute it in the ghee till the raw smells is gone and it starts to change color. Mix continously. It will take 15 - 20 mins. Very important thing here is, it should be done on low heat.

Mean while prepare the sugar syrup. In a sauce pan add sugar and water and cook till 1 string consistency.

When the gram flour is done add the milk powder, cardamom powder and mix well. turn off the heat and keep a side.

When the sugar syrup is ready, mix it with the above mixture and start cooking again till it thickens. Add a tablespoons of clarified butter while thickening.

Pour in a greased plate or container. Sprinkle slices of almonds and pistachios. When cool cut into pieces.
