This winter wonderland ombre cake is a vanilla cake frosted with peppermint frosting, filled with a surprise chocolate ganache inside each layer. Ombre frosting, snowflakes, and snowmen complete the winter wonderland look.

Ingredients

all purpose flour

canola oil

apple cider vinegar

imitation (or pure) vanilla extract

unsweetened soy or almond milk

sifted confectioner's sugar*

non-hydrogenated vegetable shortening (not crisco!)

vegan margarine

soy milk

peppermint extract

unsweetened soy milk (or almond milk)

instant espresso powder

semisweet chocolate chips (dairy free)
