Ingredients

1 8oz Italian or French bread

2 tablespoons butter(low fat)

2 table spoons olive oil

1/2 tea spoon garlic paste

1 teaspoon dry italian seasoning

salt and pepper to taste

1/4 cup parmesan cheese (optional)

Cooking Procedure

1. Preheat the broiler.2. Cut the bread into 1 inch thick slices. Crush the Italian seasoning in the palms and keep a side.3. In a small bowl mix butter, olive oil, garlic paste, italian seasoning, salt and pepper. If using salted butter be careful in using salt. 4. Spread the mixture on each bread slice.6.On a baking sheet arrange the bread slices, and broil for 5 mins in the oven. Watch carefully while broiling, the bread can  easily go from untoasted to burnt. 7. Remove from the oven, if using cheese sprinkle cheese on each bread slice and broil again for 2 to 3 mins until cheese is little brown and melted.8. Serve hot as a side dish with marinara sauce or any soup or pasta.
