A traditional recipe, so delicious yet easy. It is very well known snack but referred to by different names, prepared in many ways too including using wheat flour, added banana, just with rice and coconut and so on. There are regional differences in the recipes too. This recipe is a crunchy deep fried version known in Karnataka as ‘yereyappa’. It is prepared as an offering to Goddess Saraswati on Saraswati pooja day during ‘Navratri’. I was unable to post it during that time. However it can be relished as a sweet dish any time you wish.
